‘Halant’ uses wire recordings made by Alan Lamb.
‘Heat’ is a different version from the one on the Chaleur compilation.
‘Beech’ was recorded live in Edinburgh on 7 March 2002.

Ideal companion to [Beech for John and Miho], this is a shorter but maybe even better example of Jonathan Coleclough’s capacities as a sound assembler and dronescaper. Particularly beautiful is ‘Halant’, where Jonathan uses Alan Lamb’s wires to stunning results; the listener can’t help being unbelievably attracted by something undescribable through the simple means of word. Suffice to say, my body doesn’t feel firmly anchored to the ground as usual during this... The final track, ‘Beech’ - of course not the same released in the CD bearing the same name [Beech for John and Miho] - is music standing halfway through two different worlds, as it’s so concrete and austere in its conception, yet so unusually deviant from the norm of today’s ‘low frequency navigators’ that, once again, I can’t help but listen and remain silent - because no talk of mine can do justice to this man’s work.
